About Ben:
My name is Ben; I am 13 and have become passionate about photography photographing enthusiastically since August 2007 when I bought my first digital camera. This photo, ‘Burning Embers’ was taken whilst looking inside a wood burning stove when I was on holiday on the Isle of Muck, Scotland in May 2008. Since I got the camera my interest has grown and I have learnt more about photography and the skills required to make some photographs stand out from the rest. My favourite subjects to photograph are wild birds and animals.
My photographic collection has been growing rapidly. I have set up a website with of variety of my own photographs on for people too look at and order prints if they are interested. I am running the whole school photographic competition at Redcar Community College. I am part of a team that choose the winning entries that are then professionally published. I am involved in the advertising and selling of the calendar. I have had some of my photographs featured in the local paper too, which includes a very atmospheric photograph of Teesside in the sunset.
About Ben’s photo:

This photograph is of embers burning on a fire which represents change.
