About Ria:
We are 3 girls between the ages of 14-17, Ria, Ellice and Neola from Shipdham in Norfolk and decided to start the project after all having experienced some form of bullying, including cyber bullying. So, instead of dwelling on the past we decided to raise awareness of the issue by sending out smile packs to schools including a DVD, game, leaflets, smile council leaflets, certificate, stickers, pens and victim support cards. We also initiated the “Smile box” which is a bright yellow box that victims of bullying can put in their worries and they will be dealt with confidentially and these have been given out freely to schools across Norfolk and Suffolk. We have been to many events across Norfolk in order to raise awareness of the issue and get it taken more seriously in organisations.

This picture was taken at a Forum in Norwich to promote National Anti-bullying week. The booth was to promote our Smile Boxes which launched in schools in September 2008. Any worries children have about bullying can be put into the Smile Boxes and be dealt with professionally and confidentially by a board of students and teachers.
