Performance Awards

The Performance Awards are for young people who haven't been afraid to speak up and take action on the issues they care about.

Who are Performance awards for?

They will be awarded to young people who have already produced change in their school, youth group or community and deserve to be recognised for their campaigning achievements. People such as:

  • Lotty from Birmingham, who set up "Streetz Ahead", a dance and drama club to help and encourage young people in her area and give them an activity totake part in. She still offers classes for young people, is the manager of the project and now has six bases in Birmingham!
  • Zaman, Zaeem and Sufiyan, three young people from Bolton who wanted to raise awareness of the effects of binge drinking amongst their peers. They ran an interactive conference called "Bin the Binge" and developed "Safer Nights kits" for young people.

How can I nominate?

You can either nominate yourself or someone else, and you can nominate as many people as you feel have made a difference. The awards are for individuals and campaign groups of any size.

Nominations for 2008 are currently closed. We will begin accepting nominations for the 2009 awards shortly. Download a nomination form.

Finalists and Prizes

Finalists in the Performance category will be contacted by a member of the CHANGEit Award team who will arrange a meeting to learn more about the campaign. Finalists will be expected to send through materials for a film to be shown at the ceremony. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the award ceremony in London.

Prizes will be awarded to young people who have produced positive change. All nominations for the Performance awards will receive a certificate of recognition and the three winners will receive £750 each. Six runners-up will be awarded £250.
